I love to cook and I want to get my recipes out there so I figured this was the best way for me to do that. I will use this blog to post my recipes and recipes that I have tried from various other sources! Maybe one day I will even create my own cookbook!
Like I said I love to cook but unless we are a food network chef we don't always have on hand what the recipe calls for, so we learn to improvise. But, in everyday life we need to be able to put together quick, easy, family friendly meals. I mean we can still make gourmet recipes but those always take extra planning and shopping so those I reserve for the weekend.
Yes, my husband will eat anything, the kids not so much. I want something they will all eat.
This morning I wanted something different, not a big breakfast (I fixed that yesterday!) So I looked in the fridge and found a tube of Pillsbury crescent rounds so I began to wonder.......
Here's what I came up with:
1 roll of crescent rounds (use any kind of pre-packed dough), roll out and pinch seams together
Press into pie plate
Bake @ 375 for about 7 minutes put under broiler until top just starts to brown, rest on counter while preparing the filling
Whisk 8 eggs w/a splash of milk
Add 1 Tblsp of fresh parsley, basil and oregano
Dash of salt and pepper
6-8 oz of cubed ham
Cook egg mixture in heated butter
Spoon over baked dough
Pop into oven about 5 minutes
Top with cheese (I used mozzarella but whatever you have on hand is fine)
Pop back into oven until cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
Yes, even the kids ate this one!!
